Progress update: Right now I have contacted and talked to several people and organizations and I am continuing to do so. I have also done some more research and I have started to formulate some ideas to what I may do.
Assumptions and Test: I think one of my biggest assumptions that I am making right now is that this problem, that I think is a problem, is actually a real, legitimate problem. In order to test my theory, I will probably be conducting some type of survey and workshop at my school, hopefully, to get feedback and information on how I should continue. Right now, although I do have ideas, I still need to find the right age group, and most importantly just see what kids are feeling these days to get more opinions on the topic.

About My Project and Why I am passionate: There are two main ideas I am targeting through my project: cultural identity and stereotypes. Through my project, I hope to educate people about different cultures all around the world, and hopefully break those stereotypes that are formed through ignorance or lack of knowledge. Many people in this day and age, have problems identifying where they fit-in. Am I Chinese or am I American? Am I Indian because my parents were from there, or am I American? Should I give up my cultural roots so I can try to "fit-in"? These are questions that are asked by people everyday. Why is it that one race is "more American" than another when we are all immigrants? I think the problem lies in how we are educated and raised from a very young age. I personally, have dealt with this problem all of my life. Finding where I fit into society and what I should give up so that others can accept me. I see racism around me everyday: to me, to my family, and to my friends. This is a very serious problem in itself, but it can lead to even more dangerous issues and that is why I am passionate to solve it head on.
